The MRCSA is committed to continued service improvement for humanitarian entrants and their new and emerging communities. This is advanced through extensive advocacy work which includes the presentation of formal submissions to government, participation on key committees and working groups, and training delivered to mainstream service agencies.

Advocacy and Service Improvement
Advocating for positive change is a key MRCSA priority, particularly in relation to the social inclusion of its client groups - equitable and fair treatment and observance of their civic and economic rights. The MRCSA represents the interests of its client groups by contributing to the development of public policy, impacting on their health and wellbeing through representation on the:

Additionally the MRCSA convenes a number of forums to progress coordinated and
integrated service outcomes for new and emerging communities.

Multicultural Health Advocacy Program advances the health status of members of new and emerging communities through an evidence-based approach to service planning, improved access to health services, and the provision of training, advice and consumer feedback to the public and private health sectors. The program currently includes a number of research, training and advocacy initiatives, including:

Training: The MRCSA provides training to the government and non-government sectors, as well as to the management committees of new and emerging community groups.
