The MRCSA provides a number of specialist services to young people, women and families at risk through early intervention programs aimed at developing coping skills and resilience. Clients are referred to these programs by settlement services, Centrelink, schools, GPs, new and emerging communities, SAMCSS and or through self-referral.

Family Relationships Counselling and Community Education
This service is conducted in partnership with Anglicare SA and targets families at risk or in crisis through early intervention and community education.

Supporting Refugee Families Program
Focuses on mentoring and peer support for families and particularly isolated and housebound women with complex needs.

CALD Family and Children’s Support Program
Targets recently arrived families with children at risk from refugee backgrounds through crisis intervention and management, case-coordination, and empowerment and mentoring initiatives.

Newly Arrived Youth Support Service (NAYSS)
This MRCSA program, conducted in partnership with Anglicare SA, case managers 100 young refugees per annum who are aged between 12 and 21 years and vulnerable and at risk to overcome personal and social barriers towards achieving greater social, education and economic participation in the life of their communities. Young people are referred to the program by the police, the courts, schools, community organisations and the IHSS. Young people are case-managed for crisis situations, and other NAYSS program activities focus on life skills development and an understanding of Australian systems and social issues to support their empowerment and participation.
