The MRCSA has a number of initiatives to support the participation and leadership development of women from new and emerging communities. This include participation on key committees, namely the Premier's Women's Council, the Office for Women's Safety Strategy and the SAMCSS Women's Advisory Committee. It also includes women undertaking formal leadership courses and sitting on consumer committees in women's and children's health. The following are specific programs targeting humanitarian entrants:

African Women’s Forum
This is an ongoing advocacy group that organises workshops targeted specifically to African women from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds in order to provide them with information and to support their engagement with other women, their ethnic communities and the wider community. The forums focus on women’s needs in terms of health and safety, family relationships and the law, children’s wellbeing, diet and nutrition, racism and discrimination, employment and training pathways and leadership and in developing strategies to address these.

Middle Eastern Women’s Forum
This is an ongoing advocacy group that brings together women from diverse Middle Eastern communities so that they can discuss issues relevant to their settlement and integration, access information on a broad range of topics that concern and interest them, and participate in social and cultural activities that foster and promote their cultural traditions and heritage and support their leadership development.
