Youth Leadership Program

The MRCSA youth leadership program is convened in partnership with Multicultural Youth Link SA (MYLSA), TAFE SA, SANFL, FFSA, Come Out Youth Festival, YMCA, SAPOL and Adelaide Secondary School of English.

Targeted to young people from new and emerging communities, including young people who may be at risk of homelessness, the program has the following principles and key features:

  • young people initiate, lead and drive the programs
  • youth programs connect young people with their families and communities, affirm their cultural identity and assist their health and wellbeing in their communities and the broader Australian community
  • young people are encouraged to speak for themselves
  • young people become decision-makers and represent their communities
  • young people volunteer and work with other young people
  • young people become role models, mentors and supporters for other young people
  • free migration services
  • group orientation workshops supporting client integration to Australian systems
